The ERISA Advisory Council may recommend that a national commission be established to study the impact that tax policy has on the private pension system.
The commission would study tax proposals affecting qualified pension plans and other retirement savings vehicles. The council will decide whether to make the recommendation by Nov. 13. The advisory council is a bipartisan group that makes recommendations each year to the Secretary of Labor.
