Susan O. Jones is replacing Stephen P. Manus as head of ANB Investment Management.
Ms. Jones had been vice president for First Chicago Leasing; both firms are units of First Chicago NBD. Ms. Jones has no experience in portfolio management and will focus on business strategy and marketing, including expansion in the mutual fund and 401(k) market, and personnel management.
The top real estate and alternative investment professionals left the Connecticut Trust Funds. Everett Miller, principal investment officer/alternative investments, is working with Endowment Realty Advisors, New York, an investment fund sponsored by The Common Fund. Aviva Budd, principal investment officer/real estate, said she will join U.S. Realty Advisors, Westport, Conn., as a senior vice president.
Mr. Miller and Ms. Budd's departures follows on the heels of chief investment officer Gary Carter's announcement that he is joining a unit of Aetna Inc.
Treasurer Christopher Burnham, sole trustee of the fund, was unavailable for comment.
William H. Dudley will retire April 1 after 23 years as head of American Express Financial Advisors Inc., Minneapolis. Peter Anderson, currently senior vice president/investments, will assume Mr. Dudley's title as executive vice president/investment operations. The company manages $150 billion.
Martina Hun-Mejean, treasurer of Vauxhall Motors Ltd., Luton, England, was named comptroller. She will continue overseeing the company's (British pounds)1 billion ($1.6 billion) pension fund until a replacement is found.
Bob Burlinson was named vice president and treasurer of Handy & Harman, and will be in charge of the company's $185 million defined benefit plan. He replaces Stephen B. Mudd, who retired. Mr. Burlinson was senior vice president and chief financial officer of National Guardian Corp.
Edwin T. Burton III was appointed chairman of the $24.6 billion Virginia Retirement System. He replaces James C. Wheat III, who remains on the nine-member board. Mr. Burton is an investment banker and professor of finance at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville.
Bluford H. Putnam was named to the newly created position of president at CDC Investment Management Co., New York. The former managing director at Bankers Trust Global Investment Management, New York, will oversee investing and marketing at CDC.
Jacques Rolfo, former chief investment officer at CDC, will head the structured programs group of CDC Capital.
Jim Adams was promoted to director of the investment advisory group of Diversified Investment Advisors, Purchase, N.Y. He will be responsible for asset allocation, and will serve on the company's investment strategy panel. He most recently was a senior analyst in the firm's investment management group.
Glen Casey, former consultant at Cerulli Associates, joined Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he will provide strategy consulting to the mutual fund group. The position is new. Cerulli is seeking two retirement plan specialists to replace Mr. Casey and expand the company's consulting capabilities.
