David S. Pottruck has been named co-CEO of Charles Schwab, effective Jan. 1. Mr. Pottruck shares the position with Charles R. Schwab, the company's founder and chairman, who said in a statement that he intends to remain ``very active in the company.''
Mr. Pottruck is currently president and COO. He will retain the title of president and will remain CEO of Charles Schwab & Co., the company's brokerage unit. He will continue to direct the company's financial, technology and administrative groups.
