E. Stanley O'Neal has been appointed executive vice president-CFO of Merrill Lynch, effective March 1. He replaces Joseph T. Willett, who becomes COO of the firm's Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Mr. O'Neal and Thomas W. Davis had been co-heads of the corporate and institutional client group at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Davis now will become sole head of the group.
Vincent Thompson joined Lloyd George Management as director of institutional marketing, replacing Craig Leman, who left for health reasons.
Mr. Thompson was vice president of institutional marketing for Independent Investment Associates, where he has yet to be replaced.
C. Paul Tyborowski resigned as president and CEO of Columbus Trust to pursue other interests. He will serve as a consultant to the firm, a subsidiary of Columbus Circle. Louis P. Celantano, now chairman and COO, will assume the duties of CEO.
Larry Morgenthal and Robert Maurer joined Weiss Peck & Greer as account managers for, respectively, alternative investments and Taft-Hartley clients. Both are new positions.
Mr. Morgenthal left ABB Inc., Stamford, Conn., where he was manager-pension and thrift management. Mr. Maurer left Lazard Freres, where he was a senior vice president and equity portfolio manager. Information concerning their replacements was not available
