Casey L. Young was appointed chief of the office of governmental affairs for the $147 billion California Public Employees' Retirement System, Sacramento, replacing Susan Myers, who retired.
Mr. Young, a 25-year veteran of California state government, previously was administrative director of the state's division of workers' compensation.
