If the pace continues, 1999 might be another record year for cross-border joint ventures between money managers, according to a report from Cerulli Associates Inc., Boston.
Fifteen joint ventures already were announced by mid-August, compared with a total of 29 last year.
The majority of new ventures announced so far this year target the Japanese and Korean markets: 46% involve Japanese partners and 27%, Korean companies. About 13% of this year's deals to date are in Egypt.
