Jim Creighton was hired as head of Deutche Asset Managements global index management, replacing Bankers Trust veteran Kathleen Condon, who left in early September to pursue other opportunities outside money management. Mr. Creighton was lured from rival passive manager Barclays Global Investors, where he was a managing director, in charge of technology development for indexed products. Tom Taggart, a spokesman for BGI, said the companys passive management operations would be unaffected. Mr. Creightons technology-related duties were assumed by Paul Stevens. Lawrence Tint, vice chairman and head of index fund managment in the U.S., will assume Mr. Creightons policy-making duties. BGI noted that Mr. Creighton left by mutual agreement.
