It won't be the oft-debated replacement for Boston's Fenway Park, but a sports stadium will be named after Nicholas Lopardo, the well-known chairman and chief executive officer of State Street Global Advisors in Boston.
Lopardo Stadium will be built at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa, where. Mr. Lopardo played on the football and baseball teams before graduating in 1968.
"Sports have been the most important contributor to my ability to successfully compete in the business world," said Mr. Lopardo, who has been on the university's board of directors since 1992.
But the school is not honoring Mr. Lopardo for his past accomplishments alone. He has donated more than $1.5 million to support Susquehanna's athletic program as well as the new high-tech center for business and communications and other projects in the school's current capital campaign.
