Roberto de Guardiola, a prominent managing director at Putnam, Lovell, will leave the firm because of a reorganization. Mr. de Guardiola could not be reached by press time, but he reportedly will start his own investment banking firm, focusing on asset management mergers and acquisitions.
Putnam Lovell reorganized its investment banking business into silos that focus on e-finance/brokerage, commercial banking/specialty finance, insurance and asset management.
In addition to nine new hires made since March 1 to strengthen the research and investment banking teams, the company also promoted Joseph R. Hershberger to managing director and head of the asset management investment group, replacing Mr. de Guardiola indirectly.
