Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP, Heerlen, Netherlands, is searching for currency overlay managers, according to sources close to the fund. The 136 billion euro ($130.7 billion) plan issued an RFP, but sources did not detail the style or size of the mandate.
A source close to the plan said it would be interviewing currency overlay managers to get an understanding of overlay strategies used in the market. The fund hasnt decided whether to treat currency as a specific asset class or apply currency overlay management across the entire portfolio.
A decision is expected during the next three to four months.
An ABP spokesman said the plan would not comment on manager searches.
