Financial Executives Institute’s Committee on Benefits Finance is asking Congress to pass the Pension Opportunities for Women’s Equality in Retirement Act, saying it ‘‘will significantly improve the position of women with regard to retirement security and encourage employers to provide pension benefits,’’ said Frank Becker, committee chairman. The legislation would raise the limits on how much employees and employers can contribute to retirement plans and remove obstacles limiting workers’ ability to transfer retirement money from one employer to another.
