Taunton (Mass.) Contributory Retirement System will interview Boston Partners and Wellington Management for a $10 million active international value equity portfolio.
The $296 million pension fund's board will conduct the interviews at its March 25 meeting due to the announced closing of current manager Systematic Financial Management's strategy effective March 31, confirmed Kevin Condy, director of research at Dahab Associates, the pension fund's investment consultant.
The pension fund originally issued an RFP for the services in 2017 to comply with Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration regulations that require contracts to be put out to bid every five years and hired Systematic at the time.
Boston Partners and Wellington Management were the other finalists at the time, and PERAC regulations allow the pension fund to interview the same firms again, Jan. 22 board meeting minutes show. A decision is expected to follow shortly thereafter.
