Philip Chandler has been named as chief investment officer of Schroder Investment Solutions, according to a news release.
SIS is a series of actively managed model portfolios and multiasset funds established by Schroders in 2021. SIS had £6.3 billion ($8 billion) in assets under management as of Nov. 30.
Chandler joined Schroders in 2003, and will maintain his current position as head of U.K. multiasset while also stepping into the role of CIO. He will continue to be based in London.
Schroders has over 145 professionals in the multiasset Investments team, managing over £200 billion for clients worldwide.
“Philip’s appointment as CIO further reflects our commitment to the U.K. advisory market. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role that will significantly contribute to our efforts in fostering growth and driving innovation,” said Jamie Fowler, head of regional and advisory sales at Schroders, in a news release.
Chandler replaces Alex Funk, who left Schroders in May to act as head of investments at U.K. investment management firm PortfolioMetrix.
The Schroders Group had £773.7 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
