Martyn James was named director of investment at U.K. workplace defined contribution multiemployer plan NOW: Pensions, London.
James will be responsible for leading the investment strategy for the business, with a focus on delivering returns and retirement outcomes for members, and enhancing the sustainability characteristics of the portfolio, in particular working with trustees to strengthen stewardship activity.
NOW: Pensions has been part of the Cardano Group since 2019, and was previously part of Danish pension provider ATP, Hilleroed. James will work closely with Cardano to ensure a coordinated investment strategy, a news release said.
NOW: Pensions had £4 billion ($5 billion) in assets as of November.
James was a partner in consultant Mercer's U.K. defined contribution business, and was also a lead fo its pensions and investments business in Latin America.
