Maya Bhandari has been named as chief investment officer for multiasset strategies in the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions at U.S. asset management firm Neuberger Berman, according to a news release.
Bhandari, who will be based in London, will be responsible for leading the multi-asset team’s investment and commercial efforts in the region. She will be expected to work closely with senior members of the investment team on global view development, portfolio construction and investment decision making with a focus on EMEA, including as a leader in the firm’s asset allocation and public private investment committees.
Neuberger Berman has been contacted over who Bhandari replaces in the role.
“The investment landscape is experiencing heightened volatility, with recent macro events and shifts in geopolitics creating uncertainty,” said Erik Knutzen, multiasset co-CIO at Neuberger Berman, in the news release.
“Clients are increasingly seeking sophisticated outcome-oriented solutions to navigate these fluctuations and identify opportunities across the liquidity spectrum. Maya’s extensive expertise and strong track record in distinct market environments will be instrumental in delivering this.”
Bhandari was formerly global head of multiasset at BNP Paribas Asset Management, being in the role from November 2021. BNPP AM didn't immediately respond to a request for comment regarding her replacement in the role.
As of Dec. 31, Neuberger Berman had assets under management of $508 billion.
