Lea Carty was named group head, investment solutions at London Stock Exchange Group.
He replaces Waqas Samad, group head of investment solutions and CEO of LSEG's index provider subsidiary, FTSE Russell. Mr. Samad will leave in June to pursue other opportunities. His future plans were unavailable.
Based in the U.S., Mr. Carty is responsible for driving sustainable growth for investment management customers, a news release said.
He reports to Andrea Remyn Stone, chief product officer, data and analytics.
Details on his most recent role were not immediately available. The release said Mr. Carty was previously group head of buyside solutions at Bloomberg. He developed and ran the portfolio analytics and index business, which included the acquisition of the Barclays Risk Analytics and Index Services unit in 2016.
“At a time of industry transformation for our investment customers, Lea brings deep expertise and outstanding leadership experience,” Ms. Stone said in the release. “I’m excited to welcome him to the team to partner with our customers and build innovative new solutions with our data, analytics and index capabilities that create sustainable growth.”
LSEG also named Arne Staal as group head, indexes and benchmarks, at its index provider subsidiary, FTSE Russell.
Reporting to Mr. Carty, Mr. Staal will lead FTSE Russell, replacing Mr. Samad in that role.
Mr. Staal was head of product and research. Details on a replacement weren’t available.
