Roy D. Henriksson was named head of investment risk and trading at money manager GMO.
He will take on the newly created position in October, a spokesman said.
In addition, George Sakoulis was named head of investment teams at GMO. He will replace Andy Martin, who will take on the newly created role of head of investment product strategy at GMO.
Mr. Henriksson was chief investment officer and Mr. Sakoulis was managing director and head of global multiasset solutions at QMA, PGIM’s multiasset and quantitative equity boutique.
Mr. Henriksson will leave QMA in October. George N. Patterson, QMA’s co-head of quantitative equities, was named his replacement earlier this week. PGIM spokesman Ted Smith could not be immediately reached regarding Mr. Sakoulis’ role.
Separately, GMO said in a news release it has agreed to acquire Japanese fundamental, value-oriented equity manager Usonian Investments. The firm’s strategy, managed by portfolio manager Drew Edwards, will be offered separately to GMO clients as a complement to GMO’s existing asset allocation portfolios. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Usonian Investments has more than $1 billion in assets under management.
As of Dec. 31, GMO had $64 billion in assets under management.
