Genstar Capital has closed Genstar Capital Partners X at its hard cap of about $11.7 billion.
The private equity manager's latest middle-market buyout fund had $10.2 billion in limited partner commitments and $1.5 billion in overage capacity commitments from selected limited partners, a news release said Monday.
Investors include the $87.7 billion Ohio State Teachers Retirement System, Columbus; the $34 billion Nebraska Investment Council, Lincoln; the $23.5 billion Louisiana Teachers' Retirement System, Baton Rouge; the $8.7 billion Alameda County Employees' Retirement Association, Oakland, Calif.; the $5.5 billion San Mateo County Employees' Retirement Association, Redwood City, Calif.; the $1.1 billion Merced County (Calif.) Employees' Retirement Association; and the $1 billion Ohio State Highway Patrol Retirement System, Columbus.
The prior fund, Genstar Capital Partners IX, closed at $7 billion in 2019.
