Sarah Kirshbaum Levy was named CEO of Betterment, the robo-adviser company announced Tuesday.
She replaces Jon Stein, the company's founder, who will remain chairman and serve on the board.
Ms. Levy has been an operating adviser at Betterment for the past several months, according to a news release. Prior to that, she was Viacom Media Networks' chief operating officer.
"Sarah is an extraordinary leader with deep experience managing and scaling consumer-facing organizations," Mr. Stein said in the release. "As we've worked together over the past few months, I've learned so much from her, and had the chance to see firsthand what she'll bring to Betterment."
Mr. Stein added that while he was proud of the work Betterment accomplished over the past decade, "time had come for someone else to lead the company through its next stage of growth."
