U.S. public pension plans’ median one-year return through June 30 was 9.7%, according to the recently published Nasdaq eVestment CIO Quarterly. Returns at the fifth percentile were 7.2% and at the 95th percentile, 12.8%.
Longer term, the 10-year median return was 6.7%. The difference between the 75th and 25th percentiles was about 120 basis points, narrower than the 190 basis points for the one-year return.
