Private equity’s deal activity in the technology sector totaled 1,044 deals valued at $133.8 billion during the first nine months of the year. At the current pace, it would surpass last year’s 1,201 deals totaling $147.6 billion.
Sector activity has slid since 2021, when private equity completed 1,842 technology deals worth $308.2 billion.
Healthcare deals totaled 824 with a $64.1 billion value during the first nine months of the year. At this rate, it would fall short of last year’s $89.3 billion total and well below 2021’s $208.4 billion.
Private equity’s industrial sector deal activity totaled $114 billion and 1,673 deals. Assuming the same pace for the rest of the year, the dollar volume would drop more than 12% from last year’s $173.4 billion. There were nearly 2,000 deals in 2023.
