Savers' intentions for their target-date funds when they retire are spread among various options, according to MFS Investment Management's 2023 Retirement Outlook. Among baby boomers, 21% plan to continue investing in their TDFs but move some assets elsewhere, and 14% said they would use it for all their retirement assets. For Generation X respondents, 46% plan to invest some or all of their retirement savings in a target-date fund. There were 27% who intend to remain partially invested and 19% who will continue placing all of their retirement assets in TDFs.
More baby boomers, 42%, intend to seek out an adviser compared with 25% of Gen X's target-date fund users.
