Select private equity managers show fundraising prowess

Private equity funds raised more than $296 billion last year, with five managers accounting for $117.1 billion, based on data collected by Pensions & Investments. Thoma Bravo led the way with three buyout funds that raised a total of $32.3 billion, including the $24.3 billion Thoma Bravo Fund XV.

This year, there have been six funds that have raised a total of $50 billion. Blackstone had two funds totaling $24.9 billion, including its $22.2 billion Strategic Partners IX.
