Global private equity leveraged buyout volume was $577.7 billion for the first nine months of the year, according to PitchBook Data. At this pace, this year will likely fall short of 2021 and 2022, when deals totaled more than $1 trillion in each period.
Private equity buyouts, exits down in 2023 – PitchBook
Private equity exits were $591.8 billion this year, off last year's pace. For all of 2022, exit volume was $863.8 billion.
PitchBook's private equity-backed IPO index has rebounded since the end of October. It's currently up more than 21% for the year. Last year, the index fell by over 42%.
