The Trump administration imposed 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico and a 10% tariff on China’s imports. President Donald Trump later paused the tariffs on Mexico for one month. The Canadian government announced it will impose tariffs on certain U.S. goods, and action from China could come shortly.
Mexico, Canada and China were the U.S.’s top trading partners for goods last year, according to data provided by the U.S. Census Bureau. Through the first 11 months of the year, the three combined for more than 41% of America’s total trade (imports and exports).
