There were 25 private credit fund closings of at least $1 billion that totaled $114.2 billion this year, based on data collected by Pensions & Investments. That was more than 50% higher than 2022's $75.8 billion. There were also 25 fund closings last year.
Direct lending funds remained significant at $42.8 billion this year.
There were 47 fund closings of at least $1 billion from 2017 to 2020, totaling $130.9 billion.
