Fourteen corporate defined contribution plans provided information on the number of investment options in 2017 and 2022 as part of Pensions & Investments' top 1,000 survey of the largest U.S. retirement plans. Seven sponsors kept the same number of options, while four decreased the amount and three raised them.
Among those that dropped the number, Deloitte and American Airlines lowered the amount by 23 and 20, respectively, to 28 and 22. The median number of options was similar in both years, 21 in 2017 and 20 last year. The maximum is 30, down from 51.
