As the midpoint of the year approaches, hiring activity has picked up vs. the year-ago period. This year, asset owners have made 970 hirings for $106.7 billion vs. 898 hirings and $93.8 billion last year. The average investment size was $110 million, 5% higher than last year's figure.
Alternatives continued to lead the way, representing 83% of the dollar hiring volume. Private equity was the largest share of the category, followed by real estate/real assets.
