The common equity Tier 1 ratio, a measure of capital imposed on financial institutions by regulators in the aftermath of the severe 2008-2009 recession, remains well above the minimum requirements. The ratio was 11% in the first quarter for the 22 financial institutions under the Federal Reserve's Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review. Although down from the previous quarter's 11.5%, it is well above the 7% minimum.
