The 10 largest corporate defined contribution plans by assets had significant equity holdings, according to data collected for Pensions & Investments’ annual top 1,000 retirement plan sponsor survey. These ranged from 26% to 81% when including company stock, with the bulk invested in U.S. equities. Participants in Northrop Grumman, Bank of America and RTX plans had 10% to 12% of their assets invested in company shares, and Exxon Mobil’s stock represented 33%.
Most of the plans had large portions of investments in target-date funds, including 38% of Deloitte’s.
