Employer contributions at large corporate DC plans vary

Examining the five largest corporate defined contribution plans that provided the details to Pensions & Investments' top 1,000 survey of the largest U.S. retirement funds, employer payments ranged from about 36% to 52% of the total annual contribution. American Airlines Group topped the list with a 52% employer contribution.

DC asset sizes for these large plans ranged from $20.5 billion to $50.2 billion. Employer contributions were $500 million to $1 billion.
