During the Great Recession quarterly dividend payments of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust fell 25.2% from their 2008 peak. Currently, dividends are projected to only fall 5.6%. They are forecast to be back to an all-time high in the first quarter of 2022.
Corporate dividends staying strong
Yields are significantly above the U.S. 10-year, which yields only 70 basis points, as of Sept. 4.
With discount rates significantly lower and dividends steady, maybe market valuations are reasonable by one measure.
