In his most recent letter to shareholders, dated Feb. 22, Warren Buffett disclosed the state of his company, Berkshire Hathaway, as well as its portfolio's largest equity positions. Among those, Apple was the largest position by market value at $76.7 billion. That position, with a reported cost basis of $35.3 billion, was built up by Mr. Buffett beginning in 2016 and makes up only 5.7% of Apple's $1.25 trillion valuation.
Financial companies were the most commonly held sector by Berkshire taking nine of the top 14 spots for a total $102.8 billion.
