Irini Kalamakis was named senior managing director and global head of strategic partnerships at OMERS Infrastructure, the infrastructure unit of Ontario Municipal Employees' Retirement System, Toronto.
Ms. Kalamakis replaced Alastair Hall, OMERS Infrastructure's head of Europe, a spokeswoman said. Mr. Hall had held both roles until Monday. Ms. Kalamakis is based in London.
Reporting to Annesley Wallace, executive vice president and global head of infrastructure, Ms. Kalamakis will grow her team globally, a news release said. She also joins OMERS Infrastructure's global management committee.
OMERS Infrastructure's strategic partnership program — a third-party capital program — gives other institutional investors access to its investment program and global team. There are 15 partners in the program with about C$8 billion ($6.1 billion) in invested capital.
"The strategic partnership program is an important part of our global strategy and will significantly contribute to our ambitions to double our AUM in five years and increase OMERS allocation to infrastructure to 25% in that same timeframe," Ms. Wallace said in the release.
OMERS Infrastructure has about C$32 billion in assets under management. OMERS had C$119.5 billion ($92.8 billion) in net assets as of June 30.
Ms. Kalamakis joined from IFM Investors where she was head of Europe, Middle East and Africa for the global relationship group and global head of investor relations. Details on any replacement were not immediately available.
