Patrick Trears was named global head of infrastructure debt at AMP Capital, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Mr. Trears replaces Andrew R. Jones. Details on Mr. Jones' plans were not available.
Based in New York, Mr. Trears reports to CEO Boe Pahari.
Mr. Trears, who is also a partner, was head of infrastructure debt, Americas. The appointment reflects the importance of North America in infrastructure debt, one of AMP Capital's largest markets for current and potential infrastructure clients and opportunities, a news release said. Mr. Trears will retain responsibility for the Americas for now.
The regional teams will continue to be led by partners Emma Haight-Cheng for Europe and Simon La Greca for Asia. They report to Mr. Trears.
AMP Capital's infrastructure debt team has invested $7.4 billion to date, the spokeswoman said.
The firm, which has a total $143 billion in assets under management, also formed a global partners group, a team of senior executives from across AMP Capital, reporting to Mr. Pahari.
Simon Ellis was named head of Americas. Matt Evans and Ruben Bhagobati were named co-heads of Europe within the new group. All three retain their responsibilities as infrastructure equity partners.
The three new positions will drive growth across their respective regions, developing a regional strategy, overseeing fundraising and client activities, and overseeing recruitment and retention.
"AMP Capital's success will be determined by our global representation, client focus and strong heritage," Mr. Pahari said in the news release. "These appointments reflect our commitment to building a client-led, globally integrated investment platform to further increase access to global capital and drive collaboration across our teams to deliver better outcomes for clients."
