Today, Ms. Joyce “is driving positive change within Amundi US and beyond” as a thoughtful leader on ESG, and helping to advance DEI efforts, Ms. Jones said in her recommendation letter. Ms. Joyce leads the Women and Allies Committee of Amundi US’ Global International Women’s Network that has seen strong employee turnout, and she serves on firm committees on sustainability and inclusive culture.
Ms. Joyce, based in Boston, also works outside the firm to make the asset management industry more diverse. While she does see progress in getting more women and minorities into asset management, in terms of increased awareness and talent pipeline ambitions, when it comes to absolute numbers, “the progress of women and particularly minorities in leadership roles is undeniably low,” she said.
The talent pipeline could benefit from better retention strategies that include career and skill-set development, Ms. Joyce said. She would also like to see more sponsorship and mentorship of women and minorities.
“Without executive and senior management support, it is hard to authentically harness an inclusive culture within a firm,” she said.
Ms. Joyce credits Ms. Jones’ advocacy for responsible investing, DEI initiatives and mentoring with making her “a true asset to our firm, the industry, and the clients we serve.”
