Niamh Taylor joined Schonfeld Strategic Advisors on Monday in the newly created role of head of EMEA for the systematic hedge fund manager.
Ms. Taylor is located in the firm's London office and reports to Danielle Pizzo, chief strategy officer, a spokesman confirmed in an email.
She will oversee operations and recruitment in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as serving as the firm's "culture and brand ambassador to the firm's global client base," according to a news release about her appointment.
Ms. Taylor previously was managing director on J.P. Morgan's Chase & Co. prime and alternative sales teams in London.
Ms. Pizzo said the firm is "confident that (Ms. Taylor's) experience and connectivity will help us to accelerate our expansion in the region, serve our global client base and continue to access the best talent."
Schonfeld managed $13 billion of external capital as of June 1.
