Neil Chriss joined Paloma Partners Management as chief executive officer.
Mr. Chriss will also serve as co-chief investment officer with S. Donald Sussman, founder and chairman, said a news release Friday.
The CEO position is new, a Paloma spokesman confirmed in an email.
Mr. Chriss was most recently at Millennium Management, the Paloma spokesman added. He has also previously had roles at Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Point72 and founded Hutchin Hill Capital, a multistrategy hedge fund, the news release said. Hutchin Hill closed in 2017.
Millennium Management declined to comment.
In addition, Gregory Hayt is stepping down as Paloma's president after 15 years, but he will take on the newly created role of vice chairman, where he will serve as a "close and active adviser" to Messrs. Sussman and Chriss.
Paloma Partners is the investment adviser to the Paloma Fund, a multistrategy hedge fund, and has about $4 billion in assets under management, the spokesman said.
