Jos Trusted joined Odey Asset Management as head of institutional business, a spokeswoman said.
The role is new and Mr. Trusted joined July 14. Based in London, he focuses on growing the hedge fund firm's institutional business by developing its strategies, recruiting new investment managers and diversifying its international client base, a news release said.
Mr. Trusted "has a strong track record of strategic business development and long experience of the investment management industry," Tim Pearey, partner and CEO, said in the release. "He will bring great energy to our institutional business and allow us to maximize the opportunities emerging for active managers in this fast changing marketplace."
Odey's assets under management were not available.
Mr. Trusted joined from CQS, where he was CEO of its New City Equities business.
