Private Equity Women Investor Network has launched a new monthly podcast called "Moments that Made Her."
The global organization for women investment professionals in private equity started the podcast to further its overall mission to elevate the most senior women in the business, said Kirsty McGuire, the network's executive director.
The network wanted to spotlight senior investment professionals who have made it to the top of the male-dominated industry, Ms. McGuire said.
Guests to date include Jeri Harman, founder and chairman of Avante Capital Partners, Pam Hendrickson, vice chairman at The Riverside Co., and Angela Miller-May, chief investment officer at the $56.8 billion Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, Oak Brook.
Ms. McGuire made special mention of an episode that featured Kim Y. Lew, president and CEO of the Columbia Investment Management Co., which oversees the $14.4 billion endowment of Columbia University, New York.
"She's very well known in the industry and very accomplished and a very generous person both with her time and efforts to help people move up in the industry," Ms. McGuire said. "It was really great listening to her sort of talk about her background, where she came from and how she made her way to the top."
Ms. McGuire said the network has received very positive feedback on the podcast and they are already working on the lineup for the second season. Interested women investment professionals are welcome to contact Ms. McGuire, she said.
The podcast "Moments That Made Her" is available on the Apple and Spotify apps.
