California Treasurer Fiona Ma, who sits on the boards of CalPERS and CalSTRS, together with the Thirty Percent Coalition are taking steps to increase number of women serving on public company boards in California.
Ms. Ma and Charlotte Laurent-Ottomane, executive director of Thirty Percent Coalition, will co-host two webinars in August and September. The first webinar will be "Tips on How to Land a Board Seat" for women wishing to serve on a corporate board. The second will be for CEOs, "Diversity — The Road to a Performing Board."
Thirty Percent Coalition is an organization with members representing more than $6 trillion in assets under management that includes public companies, private equity firms, institutional investors and state treasurers aimed at promoting corporate board diversity.
Ms. Ma has also set up a database of women interested in serving on corporate boards in California. To be included on Ms. Ma's Women on Board Registry List, interested women may send a resume by email to [email protected]. Public company executives interested in participating in this effort may also submit the company's name and a point of contact to the email address.
