Raymond T. Dalio, co-chairman and co-CIO of Bridgewater Associates LP, has given his reading audience what they demanded in time for holiday gift-giving: a simplified, illustrated version of his New York Times best-selling book, "Principles."
The original version of "Principles: Life & Work," released in 2017, is a how-to manual for personal and work-life issues based on lessons Mr. Dalio learned during his long tenure in the investment management industry at the helm of Bridgewater. (Pensions & Investments, Sept. 13, 2017)
The new book, "Principles for Success," is a distilled version of the original and features illustrations from a 30-minute animated video narrated by Mr. Dalio. The video has been downloaded more than 4 million times, according to the "Principles" website.
"I was overwhelmed by the reactions to my book, 'Principles,' from a very diverse audience, including from parents and teachers. Many people said that it was life-changing and asked for a simpler version than my 600-page version, so I wrote a simplified, more entertaining version," Mr. Dalio said in a statement.
The newly released book is designed to appeal to readers of all ages. Mr. Dalio said he's "especially excited about giving it to young people because it conveys a perspective about learning that they need and don't get in school."
"Principles for Success" is available in hard-copy and digital formats from online and brick-and-mortar bookstores.
