Rhys Petheram was named chief investment officer at Tabula Investment Management, a European ETF provider and subsidiary of Janus Henderson Investors, according to a news release.
Petheram replaces Jason Smith, who had been CIO at Tabula since October 2019.
Before joining Tabula, Petherham had been at Jupiter Asset Management for 17 years, most recently as head of environmental investment solutions. Officials at Jupiter couldn't immediately be reached regarding whether any replacement for Petherham has been named.
Additionally, Adam Glen-Bott has joined Tabula’s investment team, having been a quantitative researcher and portfolio manager at UBS, before becoming an independent consultant earlier this year.
At Tabula, Glen-Bott will specialize in quantitative portfolio management and ETF indexing, with a focus on equities. Both Petherham and Glen-Bott will be based in London, where Tabula is headquartered.
Janus Henderson acquired Tabula in May this year, marking its entry into the European ETF market.
“As a firm, we are only relevant to investors when we offer differentiated solutions that improve the performance of their portfolios,” CEO Michael John Lytle said in the news release.
“Rhys and Adam join us at perfect time, bringing extensive experience in active fund management, ESG investing and quantitative index portfolio management. Their expertise will enable us to fully leverage the significant advantages of being part of the Janus Henderson Group.”
Janus Henderson had $361 billion in assets under management as of June 30, and is the fourth largest global provider of active fixed-income ETFs by assets under management, according to the firm.
