Florence Moon and Kevin Orr have been named to the leadership team at Krane Funds Advisors, the investment manager for KraneShares ETFs announced Sept. 13.
Moon has been promoted to managing director and head of institutional business development, the investment manager, commonly known as KraneShares, said in a news release. Orr has been named managing director and head of strategic partnerships.
The moves underscores KraneShares’ commitment to growing its business among institutional investors and building strategic partnerships, a spokesman said.
“Florence’s institutional expertise and Kevin’s ability to build strategic partnerships will ensure KraneShares continues to grow and innovate globally,” CEO Jonathan Krane said in the news release.
Moon joined KraneShares in 2019 as part of the institutional sales team, the spokesman said. Prior to joining KraneShares, she held senior roles at VanEck. Moon has more than 15 years of experience working with institutional clients, the spokesman added.
Orr, an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, had previously worked with KraneShares as a consultant, the spokesman said. He helped establish partnerships “that leverage KraneShares' marketing, distribution, and product development expertise to launch ETFs and model portfolios,” the spokesman added.
“KraneShares has now appointed him as a full-time member of its leadership team as managing director and head of strategic partnerships,” the spokesman said.
Orr held senior leadership roles at Putnam Investments, PanAgora Asset Management and 3D/L Capital Management prior to joining KraneShares, the spokesman said.
A specialist investment manager focused on China, climate and alternatives, KraneShares had $7.1 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 12, including $6.6 billion in U.S.-listed ETFs, the spokesman said. The firm’s U.S. ETFs include its flagship product, the $4.1 billion KraneShares CSI China Internet ETF, he added.
