Travis Spence was named global head of ETFs at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, effective immediately.
Spence replaced Bryon Lake, who had been a managing director and global head of ETF solutions at JPMAM, a spokesperson confirmed. Lake was named as a partner and chief transformation officer for Goldman Sachs Asset Management's client solutions group in July.
London-based Spence leads the ETF product development, capital markets and newly formed ETF insights teams, while continuing to head ETF distribution in Europe, Middle East and Africa, JPMAM said in a news release. He reports to Jed Laskowitz, CIO and global head of asset management solutions.
Over the past decade, JPMAM’s global ETF platform has expanded to more than 100 ETFs with assets under management totaling nearly $190 billion, the release said. JPMAM is the second-largest in terms of active ETF AUM, and the eighth-largest in terms of overall ETF AUM, according to the release which cited Bloomberg data as of Aug. 14.
“Under Travis's leadership, we are confident that our ETF franchise will continue to innovate and help our clients achieve their goals,” Laskowitz said in the release.
Spence has been head of EMEA ETF distribution since 2023. Previously, he was the international head of the fixed-income investment specialist team, where he was responsible for insights, product development and fixed-income portfolios across EMEA and Asia, the release said. He also led JPMAM’s global liquidity Asia business and oversaw JPMAM’s largest distribution relationships in the region.
JPMAM had $3.3 trillion in assets under management as of June 30.
