John Lovito, senior vice president, co-chief investment officer for global fixed income and a senior portfolio manager for American Century Investments, plans to retire on March 31, 2025, an American Century spokeswoman confirmed on Aug. 22.
Upon Lovito’s retirement, Charles Tan, senior vice president, co-CIO for global fixed income and a senior portfolio manager at American Century, will become the sole CIO for global fixed income, the spokeswoman said. Lovito and Tan have served as co-CIOs since October 2018, she said.
Lovito joined American Century in 2009 from Lehman Brothers Asset Management, where he was managing director and head of global fixed income strategies, according to American Century’s website.
Given that Lovito has announced his plans to retire, he will no longer serve as a portfolio manager for the American Century Emerging Markets Bond ETF effective Dec. 31, an Aug. 22 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission said. Effective Sept. 1, Jason Greenblath, a vice president and senior portfolio manager, and Lynn Chen, a vice president and senior portfolio manager, will be added as portfolio managers on the fund, according to the filing.
The American Century Emerging Markets Bond ETF had $31.5 million in assets as of Aug. 21, according to American Century’s website.
American Century Investments had $256.7 billion in total assets under management as of Aug. 21, the spokeswoman said.
