Capital Group, home of the American Funds mutual fund family, launched five actively managed ETFs on Sept. 28, including its first multiasset ETF, it said in a news release.
The new funds, which also include two fixed-income and two equity ETFs, bring the total number of ETFs in Capital Group's lineup to 14, all of which are actively managed. Capital Group launched its first six ETFs in late February 2022.
The new multiasset fund, the Capital Group Core Balanced ETF, and the four other new ETFs — the Capital Group Core Bond ETF, the Capital Group Short Duration Municipal Income ETF, the Capital Group Dividend Growers ETF and the Capital Group International Equity ETF — were launched on the New York Stock Exchange, the news release said.
"Looking ahead, we see increasing demand for fixed-income ETFs in particular, as the Federal Reserve appears to be nearing the conclusion of its interest rate cycle, and we anticipate an influx of historic cash flows into active fixed-income services," said Scott Davis, head of ETFs for Capital Group, in the release.
The nine ETFs in Capital Group's suite prior to the new funds' launch had assets under management totaling more than $12 billion as of Aug. 31, the release said.
"Capital Group has very quickly established a strong ETF presence by tapping into their active management expertise," said Todd Rosenbluth, head of research at VettaFi, a data and analytics provider.
As of June 30, Capital Group had more than $2.3 trillion in total assets under management.
