Tony Kelly is joining new fixed-income exchange-traded fund issuer BondBloxx Investment Management as co-founder.
Mr. Kelly, who was previously managing director, global head of product and strategy for the ETF business at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, will join the founding team led by Leland Clemons, who served in multiple roles with BlackRock's iShares ETF business from 2005 to 2019, according to a BondBloxx news release Tuesday.
Before joining GSAM, Mr. Kelly led product management and development at iShares, where he led the launch of 150 funds, the news release said.
"Tony is a trailblazer in the ETF industry," Mr. Clemons said in the news release. "His passion for innovation will help BondBloxx to build and manage products that deliver on this mission for investors."
The new firm filed registration statements with the SEC for an initial lineup of seven sector-specific high-yield ETFs. A spokeswoman could not provide further information on a timeline for the firm's launch.
Patrick Scanlan, spokesman for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, could not be immediately reached for further information.
