Jenny Gustafsson was named head of Sweden's AP Funds' Council on Ethics, a spokeswoman confirmed.
The council represents the sustainable efforts of AP1, AP3 and AP4, Stockholm, and AP2, Gothenburg. The pension funds have about $170 billion in combined assets.
Ms. Gustafsson will develop the council's activities, including new long-term goals, when she starts in June. She will replace John Howchin, who resigned in October 2021.
"The head of the council has a particularly key role in strengthening the AP Funds' work as responsible owners. It has been important to find a person who both has a great understanding of the complex advocacy work that we have ahead of us, and can lead and develop the new council," Magdalena Hakansson, the council's chairwoman, said in a news release Tuesday.
Ms. Gustafsson is head of distribution and sales at occupational savings company AMF, Stockholm, and will leave her role in June. A spokesman at AMF could not be reached to comment about a replacement.
