Xinting Jia joined State Street Global Advisors in Melbourne Wednesday as ESG investment strategist for the Asia-Pacific region.
The position is new.
Ms. Jia comes to SSGA from CARE Super, a Melbourne-based superannuation fund managing A$19 billion ($13.6 billion) in retirement assets for 220,000 members, where she served as an ESG specialist, "leading the firm's ESG policy formation, implementation and stewardship," according to an SSGA news release.
Fiona Bauer, a spokeswoman for CARE Super, couldn't be reached for comment.
Ms. Jia reports to Karen Wong, SSGA's San Francisco-based global head of ESG and sustainable investing, and regionally to Michele Barlow, the firm's Hong Kong-based head of strategy and research for the Asia-Pacific region.
SSGA had $3.9 trillion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
